Auto feeders only work with flake and pellets I believe....
Do you have a neighbor or friend that can possibly feed your fish a couple of times while you are gone?

Can't speak for the eel, since I have 0 experence with them. But as far as your fish, if they have been well fed to this point, 6 days w/o food will not hurt them, imo. I have been gone for just shy of 2 weeks with out no food, with similar stock and they were fine.... BUT were they sure glad to see me get home!!!!

I would find someone to come and feed at least a few times, but I would be more worried about top off -- I know my tank takes at about 2 gal a day.

Yep an Auto top off is needed if you plan to be gone. I fill a 37g plastic garbage can (marked fish only) with RO, it lasts about a week. If you go that route I would set it all up and watch it for a week to see if it will have enough RO for that amount of time and work correctly, you know..get all the bugs out of your plan ahead of time.
Fish have more to eat then what you feed them. They live off the rock critters. You could seed (at night) some amphipods maybe double an order and the fish can hunt them down to eat. That would surely sustain them while your away. Algae eaters have the rocks to pick at, you could put a couple of algae sheets on a clip just as you leave.

i'm not sold on people doing water changes the day before they leave for vacation. i think if you're only going away for 6 days, you can do your water change a week before you leave and mix another one when you get home. i dont think anything should be done a day before going on vacation. even after something as simple as a water change, i think its smart to have a few days to monitor the tank. this is jmo, of course.

I def don't need to worry about top off I lose maybe 2 gallons a week. I know my fish will be ok im just worried about eel going crazy after my fish. He trained to eat right out of my hand so he does not attack my fish

Believe me it was not my choice. Wife had a pacemaker placed in her stomach and. Week trip turned into almost 2, and father in law didn't feed fish like he was suppose 2..... but fish were fine
