I am interested in switching my fowlr tanks to reef tanks. I have a few question. What kind of lights should i get for each tank? I want to keep mushrooms and polyps mostly. I would also like to know a good place to buy my lights from on-line.
In my 26 gallon tank i have these small starfish, I heard they are not reef safe is this true? The 26 gallon is a bowfront

If you are only going to get low low light corals then I would not spend lots of $ on lights. I only have a dual strip light and a single strip light with a total of 60watts and I have the corals you see listed below. Just make sure that the tank is well established. You may want to add more LR. GOOD LUCK

my suggestion is to buy nice lights if you have the money...believe me this hobby is addictive...you may want to add something later that needs a little better light...it will keep you from having to limit your choices in the future...check out http://www.hellolights.com and http://www.ahsupply.com plus better lighting looks better....IMO....the latter has great prices on power compact flourescent kits if you are the DIY type of guy...check this link out for the starfish ?.... http://www.garf.org/STAR/starfish.html garf is great for info....good luck..

You didn't say what lights you currently have? You need to think about the type of corals you want to keep; that will be your guide for lighting. Also, I have a bowfront, 72, and it was not easy [or cheap] outfitting it with High Output lighting due to the limited tank top space. So you'll also need to consider this.
