I am going reef by christmas and need to know what I need. Here is what I have so far:
-20 gallon (going to upgrade to a 29 or 37, must likely the 29 gallon)
-Marineland Penguin 350B Power Filter with Bio-Wheel
-Hydro 100 Watt heater
-Marineland 23" Bubble wand
-Top Fin Black Gravel
-Hagen Power-Flo 18" 15 watt light
-and a few fake plants and some decor
What other things do I need to go reef. And what are some websites to order from. Thank you!! :) :happyfish
P.S. I have 1 yellow-tailed damsel, 1 gold damsel (do not know specific name), 1 Neon-velvet damsel, 1 Juvenile Koran Angel.

well to start with when its a reef tank get rid of the bubble wand not needed not good for reef tanks.
get 30 to 40 pounds of live sand.
also get 1 to 2 pounds per gallon of live rock.
you will have to up grade your lighting to. like 2 - 96 watt power compacts 10,000 k /actinic bulbs then you will be able to grow some polyps and mushroms and all those med lighting ..corals.....your fish will also look so much better under this type of lighting
you wont need the fake plants any more.
also you will need a protein skimmer like a aqua c remora/or a prizim but most people like the aqua c remora.

I was thinking the Dual Satellite 2x65watt SunPaq w/Lunar Light & Fan. Is this a good lighing fixture for a reef? For a 24" (20 gallon), it produces 130 watts.
