Going to try a reef

Hello all. I had a fish liverock only for 3 years . I have 1 yw tang 5", 1 green chromis 3", 1 royal gramma 3", 2 false percula clownfish 4 1/2", 1 Flameangel 3" 7 Mushrooms, 1 White sebar anemone 9" the clowns host in. 130 lbs live rock and 1" sand bed 45 gal sump . Now for my question i want to go to a reef and i dont want no zoos or xenia. so what would be some good corals to start with oh btw i have 2 250 watt MH lighting 20k xm bulbs any and all help is wanted thanks.

hmm, that sounds like a great setup for a nice sps (small polyp stoney) reef. it would look great!!! look into corals like acropora, montipora ect, ect.

OK i see some sps i like but what are acropora and montipora .dose this site have them and or thay good to start with. thanks

yes this site does have acropora. if you go to the corals section it is on the very top of the page listed as "staghorn acropora". oh yeah, acropora and montipora are just the species of coral. there are many different names and varietys.

ok how easy are brain coral green lobo. goniopora green,plate coral orange
and do any eat fish .what if anything do i feed them i have not got them yet
but was going to order those any info would help these will be my 1st corals

brain corals are fairly easy. Some should be placed on the sandbed. You will probably also want to light acclimate them to your metal halides.
Goniporas have very poor survival rates in an aquarium. If you do a search on the forums about them you should find some information about them.
I do not know a whole lot about plate corals. I have heard that they do not ship well, but have never tried one so I do not know for sure.
