Gold Stripe Maroon clowns

It says here on this site that the white stripes start turning yellow once the turn a year old. I have had mine almost 1 1/2 years and his stripes are still white, I can see the first one start turning yellow but have seen it like this for the past several months. Anyone else have these and if so how long did it take for their stripes to change colors. And has anyone ever had any luck keeping them with SFE or lions- I have 2 of these clowns and the big one is about 3 inches long and very fat- would it be possible to get small SFE and a juvi lion?

i have a white stripe that is 4 years old. sorry but what you've heard is only sort of true. i bought a regular or what i thought was a regular white stripe from ***** and it turned gold stripe a year or two later. so i think it's probably cause the clowns that have gold stripe genes in them turn gold and the ones that don't stay white. the sfe will be ok by the way.

Kowaleski, I have a 4" GSM and a 16" Snowflake. They have been tank mates for two months and get along fine. Your Maroon will become the dominant in your tank eventually. Truly, my 3" Three stripe damsel is the boss of my eel. He goes around tail slapping my eel back into the rocks when I feed everyone

my clown runs the tank- when ever I stick my hand in he charges me - infact he took a chunk out of my wifes hand a couple of times
and when ever I clean the sides of the tank he goes right after the blue sponge and attacks it like a mad man- the smaller one is actually cleaning up my yellow tang

Don't go by the charts as far as when stripes will change from white to gold. This is a crap shoot based on a lot of different factors.
As far as the discussion on the eel's, I can't help but add that IMO...they don't mix. Post after post suggests that everything went well for "X" amount of time, then.....always the same, a new post..."why did he eat my such and such, etc."
