Gold Stripe Maroon pair?

I have a large green BTA (about 8 to 10 in) I would like to get 2 Gold stripe maroons. My question is 1. Should I get a mated pair or could 2 smaller ones ( not mated) from the same aquacultured batch work out. Ive read all the stories about only keeping 1 per tank but I was really hoping for a pair, has anyone done this. My tank is a 180. Thanks in advance.

I had the same question about 4 months a go. I bought the mated pair. It may cost a little more, but worth it!

i'm also looking for a mated pair of maroons so if you find a pair could you let me know if the have other pairs if from a lfs or internet sales ..thank you bill

I dont know if this will get deleted but at the doctors place they used to have them.
