remember people be fair here. No offense to anyone but the photo with the most votes is super blurry...Hows that possible?

How about we all stop the constant campaigning of our own photos and complaints about others who may or may not be getting more votes????
It's just a fun photography contest!

everyone has a right to their own oppinions and free speach. Im speaking my mind. to many people here getting their friends to vote. BS is a nice person but the photos submited for this post are blurry. most of the photos in this post look better then SWF ill admit that though.

People, no one is the official commentator for this contest except for the SWF.com owners.
No comments are needed about the appropriateness of pictures, whether its photo-shopped, or whether you think that one picture is better over another.
If someone is actually cheating, such as you know the photo does not belong to them, then we welcome and encourage you to contact SWF regarding the matter. If any photo ends up disqualified, then SWF will identify that and not post the picture in the contest. Otherwise, enjoy the contest minus the scrutinizing.

this is supposed to be a fun contest and chance for everyone to participate...if his friends are supporting him so be it...it's still better than swf...i think his 2nd pic is great, even if a little fuzzy, i still really like it.

How many of these contests have you won already? If there is one you may not win, you're still gonna have a pretty big spending spree on this site. Bschaible may not be taking his/her pics with an eight thousand dollar camera, but it shows the full side which I thinks serves the best purpose for swf.com since they are putting the pics as a small tag in the information for each sale, anyways. I'm not trying to start a fight here, just trying to preserve some unnecessary bickering.

oh im not trying to cause any issues either. I have won 2 photos out of I think 6 that have already been done and voted on. So im not doing to well. Im not sweating it either. I just want everyone to try and be fair about it and I dont think some people are. Its suppose to be fun but when people dont play fair it doesnt make it all that much fun anymore. BS photos look fine but in my oppinion there is 3 others that look better on this post...nothing against him/her. thats just my .02 cents.

Enough said on this topic people. The contest stands, and so does the pictures that have been posted.

i don't know what was said before, but i truly don't know this fish enough to vote without having a question answered.
do the fish get darker as they get older? flric's is a lighter orange than the rest, and i think it's the clearest pic and would have my vote, but if the fish are supposed to be that dark red i have to change it. can someone PM me if the fish is supposed to be dark red?

I have always seen them in the darker color variety. They are normally more of a maroon color (gold stripe maroon clown) but I dont know if it has anything to do with the age of the fish.

i was told that if they are tank raised then they are normally a darker color maroon, but if they are wild cought then thay are normally lighter in color. i have no idea wether this is true or not but i thought i should share.

They change colors, going from lighter to darker as they age. Some may even appear almost black in areas, as you can see with some of these pictures.
As far as which is more in line with the real thing, it just depends. Some hobbyist, myself included, tend to prefer to get fish that are juvenile rather than adult. Other hobbyists want adult specimens so that they can know what the end-result is going to be.
Here is a picture of a pretty bright maroon, where you can see it starting to turn the darker "maroon".
Gender is also a factor with color. Old adult female maroons, are pretty dark.
