Golden Pagoda Cup Damaged permanently ?

the Pagoda was thriving for 7 months almost tripled in size and looked great it got to close to aussie pink hammer or branching hammer coral and was stung. I immediately moved the pagoda into a different area with peaceful coral. my question is a small size the size of a quater was damaged like turned almsot whitish and looked bad will this coral recover so far its doing better...on the bottom is a pic of the coral and the damage from the hammer. can it heal ? the fist pic is the golden pagoda now and the second pic is the goldne pagoda being stung by the hammer.

that area is dead now. as long as your water conditions are good the main colony will survive. but I think your stuck with a dead spot.

its ugly there is now way to fix this ? will it grow and become unoticeable ? can I cut that part out w/o killing the coral so I dont see that ugly spot..it bothers me lol...the coral grew from 2 inches to 5 inches in 7 months.

Given time and keeping the area clear of algae it most likely will re-colonize the area. I purchased a colony with smaller damage and it over grew the damaged spot. Your colony is already established and may recover faster, Make sure it continues to get good flow so no detritus builds up on the dead spots.

Be Careful Turbinaria are sensitive to mushroom corals as well and that brain (Platygyra) can be aggressive with sweeper tentacles

if i remove that golden pagoda cup and put it somewhere elsse in the tank, would it be a good idea to put a 6" rock full of blue super colored ricordeas ? it will be near the green recordeas will the brain bother or cause harm to these ricordeas they were an expensive coral. I would place it in a vertical position and it would be in the middle of the tank the MH lighting are 10 inches from the top of the tank.. what do you think ? or should I put it lower with the super colored orange ricrodeas and super color neon green ricordeas ?

Give the brain 2-3 inches of room all around min. Ricordia likes bright light more colorful ones tend to like more light, don't place them too high too fast. Try under the light but more like the bottom third of the tank.

they are 8"above the SB on some LR. like I said I have excellent MH lighting with 14k Phoenix lamps that go all the way to the SB my corcea maxima and derasa are growing nicely on the the sb so the light must be getting there...should i just put the blue ricordeas vertical on an angle tilted against the overflow box ?
side question will ricordeas grow on glass or on the sand bed floor.. if the rock they occupy is full with polyps ?

your plan sounds fine, they grow on the sb and float around so put a piece of rock next to it for it to attach to

decided to relocated the ricordeas to the middle of the tank...about 2 feet from the MH lighting and its on an angle so not straight up facing it I hope there is not too much flow in these spots...its low/moderate flow.
