Golden puffer and queen trigger in nano?

... Just kidding! But now that you're here...
What do you guys think:
Blue Spotted Hawaiian Puffer or Valentini (or your opinions on both... i know they can fight)
Dwarf Lion
Flame Angel
Added in that order to a 29 gallon tank with a cheap HOB mechanical filter and a skimmer rated for 65 gallons. The substrate is crushed coral, so I figure I can vacuum it when I do water changes.
I was leaning against adding live rock, but now I'm thinking it needs 20-30 lbs to keep up with that bioload.
Will this work? What am I missing? What do I need to ditch?
Thanks!

Yes to the puffer, probably not to the lion, and its could get cramped with the flame angel, really the lion and dwarf angel need a bigger tank. JMO

Well, then any other suggestions for this tank. I'm trying to get a few interesting fish that I can't keep in my reef. Another idea was a pair of maroons (i have tomatoes in the reef) with the puffer.
You think that filtration is going to be adequate (with/without LR)?
Thanks!

I don't know anything about the golden puffer, so I'm not going to try and act like I do, but I think the flame would be fine, provided it's a 29 long, rather than a cube.. They can use as much swimming space as possible. I don't see too much of a problem with a fuzzy dwarf, but this isn't concrete...
However, regarding the substrate, I never end up hearing anything good about crushed coral, so you might want to wait for some more input on that.

Also a note of caution: Some flame angels end up being more cooperative than others... There have been many happy owners, but there are also a fair share who have issues with their flame angels being overly aggressive (so if you decide to get one, it may be best to add it last), and there are also problems with some not being reef safe.. A few people on this board currently probably have posted about their flames being coral pickers...

I think it's luck of the draw, really.. I have a flame, and well, he's an angel

(Sorry.. couldn't resist).

I know I keep hearing bad things about it (cc that is). The tank is currently being used as a copper QT for ich, so I was not wanting to waste money on expensive live sand that would get ruined by copper. The Golden puffer was a joke to get people to look at my thread (they get huge). Blue spotted puffers are nice and small. I don't really have my heart set on anything but the little toby, but I'd like to have more than one fish. I'll probably add one at a time over a period of months to make sure I don't exceed my limits in the smaller tank. If things go smooth at two fish I might think about a third. I'm only a week into this QT anyway so I've got some time to think.
Thanks.

Hahaha, well it won't be a reef, this tank is for stuff I can't keep in my reef. Plus the idea is for a semi-aggressive tank. I don't think there should be too much head butting between a toby and the flame, but then again, what do i know.
Incidentally, my ID, or whatever that is under my user name on these threads is supposed to be Jaguar Shark (or S-h-a-r...k if it happens again). But it shows up as Jaguar

. Am I being censored on some reasonable premise of which I am unaware?

If you can get the blue spotted to eat, great, but I really don't think he like it very much in that little 29. The Valentini would be a much better choice.

i think i flame angel, or any pigmy angel in anything less than 55g in a new tank is cruel and destined for failure.

Oh really? I'd never heard that. Valentini was my original choice, perhaps I'll go back to it.
Thanks!
