I just picked up a golden puffer and just wanted to make sure I dont need to do anything special for this guy?
I have had 2 pork's.
Just wondering if any special needs for a golden puffer?

good water quality and a variety of meaty foods if you dont have cc substrate i do suggest adding a bit to your tank. my ss puffer used to love chewing on the cc to keep his teeth filed.

Or you can just hermit crab shells with or without the crabs in em.

cc is cheeper to replace and it doesnt break up like shells do so it files the teeth more efficiently

they will work for a while yes but when you get tired of replacing them remember the cc and that puffers arent reef safe because they chew on the corals so it natural for them.very cool fish though.

I have a fowlr, I have a bunch of dried coral in the tank (decorative stuff).
I want to try and avoid adding CC, I have a sand bed.
Thanks!

I bought 100 empty shells from this site, I believe for 8.99 and use them for my resident hermits that survive and also as a way for the porc to grind his teeth. Been two years and still have a bag full.
