I got a goniopora tonight at the lfs while i was replacing my bulbs the owner said that would be a good one for me to start out with I am new with the corals. I have a few buttons and shrooms that have been in there for a year. My lights are 2 10,000 & 2 atinic all 65w and 4 moon lights from coralife. I just replaced all bulbs tonight after 2 years what a diffrence it made. Any input would be great about the new coral im a little scared after reading about it on here it mentions mh lights

First and foremost, find a new LFS.
That was some terrible advice. A jump from mushrooms to Goniopora? Really, I question his advice.
If you do a search on this board for Goniopora, you will find that the success rate for the coral is very poor. Now and then there is a success, and it seems correlated somewhat to "dirtier" systems. Not heavily skimmed. It will require feeding, and probably does not really need metal halides, IMO.
What are your water parameters?
