Good Coaches make Bad Teachers!

There is a football coach/biology teacher at my school. He is an excellent coach, he really is...we do well

But I've heard some things about the way he teaches that makes me glad I don't have him. For example he has had 2 homework grades this year and his final is 5 non-biology related questions. Like what's your name and etc. At first I was jealous that I had a big problem final, but then I realized that those students weren't learning anything. I'm not the unlucky one, they are. This isn't fair, what do you think? Should he be whipped to teach more? There is no chance in the world he is going to be fired, but coaching is all that is keeping him at our school, I mean it has to be. Opinion?

you should go right to the school board and voice your opinion... then write your congressman and let them know of this tomfoolery... they write your govenor and then perhaps write the soon to be President Obama!!! what you have here is ludacris and an outrage!!!
on a serious note... you cant generalize that ALL coaches are bad teachers... why does this one thing make him so bad??? besides, his ciriculum had to be approved... what is wrong with having a few BS questions on a test to keep thing entertaining and fun... when i was in school i had several teachers that would put question on a quiz or test that were unrelated to the class...

Oh, no don't get me wrong. MY Biology teacher is a great coach (baseball) and great teacher. I didn't mean to make a generalization like that lol. There is nothing that I can or will do about it...I just wanted to know what you thought about it. He gives no lectures, no tests, and random assignments. The only test he does do is finals (required) and he BSes that test. He only teaches like 2 classes both Freshman Biology as well. Maybe I will write to Obama

Haha, well most of the coach-teachers from my hometown sleep with their students.
Id rather not learn anything!

Haha, I've had two gym teachers so far, both were very good. One teaches track and is great at that (I'm on the track team so I know from experience) and the other teaches spanish
She's good for spanish and gym.
