Mardell Cupramine
Follow directions to the letter and only treat in a hospital tank.
Copper at levels above 1ppm is harmful to fish. Below 1ppm and it won't cure ich. Best way to know for sure is to get a copper test kit.

Yikes. I hope you didn't treat your main tank. If you did, you will never be able to keep corals in the tank.
A good fish store should have one on hand for a free test. If not, you can find them online at various venders.
You could also treat ich by hypo salinity treatments. But you can't do both treatments at the same time.
Best of luck.

Just to clarify, Cupramine is made by Seachem, not Mardel. Mardel makes Coppersafe. I believe SnakeBlitiz is advocating for Cupramine, which is the best choice for copper treatment.

However, trigger40, you can not dose your display tank with copper. Your tank has live rock in it and is currently experiencing ammonia. Hyposalinity would be your better choice, but you would have to remove your live rock and inverts.

guys its ok i have a qt and i would never put any chemicals in display tank and thank you beth for clarifying what snake said. the copper treatment is going great but i only have directions for the first 5 days and i read i should treat for at least two weeks. sould i just continue to add copper as the days go on or what?

Thanks Beth, yes, Seachem Cupramine. I don't know why I said the other.
I would closely follow the instructions and do what it says. I'd also use that test out to make sure you maintain levels at 1ppm.
