My LFS just got some Maxima Clams in and I since they needed strong lighting, was wonderin if my little 3 Gallon Pico's light it came with was good enough for a clam. The specs are 9 watt compact fluorescent lam and Half 10K Day-Light/Half 7100k Actinic Blue.

Sorry that's far from enough lighting. 3 gallons is also way too small for any clam. They can be very sensative to even slight changes in water chemistry and temperature.

Agreed
far from what a maxima clam needs. Which is a larger tank tons of light and very very stable water.

maxima clam is considered one of the hardest clams to keep. in a 3 gallon with pc light, it will be very difficult if not impossible to keep alive. maxima or crocea clams need at last a 30 gallon imo, with t5 or mh.
