I'd like to put 1 fish in my 5 gallon nano and was wondering what anyone might reccommend.
I was thinking of a Jewel Damsel.

5 gallon nano?
i'd only add one fish, or 2 if they are real small(and will stay small)
maybe a pair of of gobies, the only ones i can find for a small tank like that are maybe the
2spot
neon(gold or blue)
redhead
HTH and good luck

JustinL,
The firefish would look nice. The jewel damsel gets to be 8" when full grown. Green Chromis - 3", Perculas - 3-4". I agree with fshhub, only real small fish, unless as they get a bigger, you move them to a larger tank.
I think fish around the size of catalina gobies would be best. Let me know what you decide to do. I just setup a 7 gal nano-reef myself, and may be looking for a fish for it after it gets established. If my wife has her say, it will be firefish, these are her favorites.

i ran across this pic it is a pic of a 6 gal nano it could give you an idea as to what u want to do. catalina gobies are a nice looking fish but double check i think they require a colder water temp than most other fish

Karla,
I said around the size of a catalina, I did not recommend one. The picture is nice, and I have spent alot of time on that site, and I ordered my lights from them. The owner Chris, seems like an extremely nice guy. I probably will not have that much in my tank, but I hope to have nice nano-reef. There are many beautiful ones out there.
One of the LFS, not really local setup one up, it looked nice for about 1 month or so, the was covered with algae, it got so bad they took it down. Another LFS, in the other direction, again not so local has had one up for quite a while, but in an eclipse, and it is real nice.
Thanks for the input and picture.

Well I've got a firefish in my big tank that I'm going to transfer over to my nano. I think he'll me a nice addition (plus I won't have to buy another fish).
Thanks for all your suggestions!

I have a Blue Damsel in my 5gal. with some blue hermits and turbo snails. As hard as the tank is to keep up with, he does great.
