This goby is light brownish gray overall with dark bars on the body and a black spot on the gill cover, on the first dorsal fin and on the tail. There are also some blue spots on the front of the body and head. This fish can be employed in a utility role and is an outstanding sand sifting fish! Hardier than other gobies used for sand sifting. It will help keep the upper layers of live sand stirred by taking mouthfuls and then expelling it through its gills. It will also eat some filamentous algae.

if it is the same one i have he turns sand over all day everday. i call him lil wayne cuz he makes it rain all over the place. and they are notorious for droping sand all over clams and corals and rock and everthing else like the Golden Headed goby. but besides the diamond goby prolly the best sand sifters. mine started working the second he was put in the tank. but check this they sell them on the site at the Sleeper Banded Bullet i assume thats wut you and i have. i recommend them.

I would caution against sand sifting fish. They are messy and they will deplete your sand bed of its beneficial critters. You'll have to add more live sand at a faster rate to keep him fed unless you can get him to eat prepared food but then he may stop sifting. It's perfectly normal to have some algae on your sand as long as it doesn't get out of control. If it does there are other measures you can take to reduce the amount of algae.
