I was at wallmart tonight checking out some stuff.
I looked at lights.
There was this.
SUNSHINE
full spectrum
simulates noonday summer sun
15 watts
Would this lighting be ok in a tank for coraline algae and low light corals??
55 gallon
5 blue leg hermits
23 lbs liverock
4 inch DSB

If you're not generating interest with this post, you might try doing a search in the top 3 categories on the board, using the terms "lighting systems" or "lights" or "how many watts", etc.
This is and has been a hot topic, and there are many, many threads that will give you ample information, I'm sure. Good luck! :D

I'd say that that is not enough light. I'd get a couple hundred more watts. Low light corals can go in the shade.

I am trying to get out of having to buy 300$ + worth of lighting here. I will not have any "light hungry" corals for at least 6 months. And I think it would be silly to go out and I think it would be silly to go out and get expensive lighting for algae. Well I will check this later and see if anyone else has an opinion.
