you can order fish or inverts from them. or just find out their delivery date and you can get the fish and inverts before they touch their "quality water". i picked up a powder brown tang today they had the fish floating when i got there i just grabbed the bag out of the water took it to the front and paid for it.

Actually, I order all of my livestock from a top-notch LFS, and if I can, I try to order and get them in when I can pick them up before release...saves the stress on the livestock of being released that one extra time...makes sense, I think.

***** is a CHAIN PET STORE with a bad rep keeping & selling saltwater fish in stock. I think he made a nice save on that tang before it even got into their tank. At least the tang will have a better chance of survival in his tank.

Downside seems to be that you can't watch them eat, but I must agree it's better than the alternative.
Isn't there anyplace else to buy your fish? After my experience I cringe when I hear of someone creating a demand. If we all stop buying from them maybe they will drop the saltwater line of retail thus saving countless fish. :notsure:

the ***** near my house though not the best quality water.. i got my clown from them and recently a firefish and they are .... they both acclimated just fine..
also one of the workers was teling me that ***** is trying to eliminate all saltwater fishes from there stores... and keep only fresh water.. so in most cases what i hear is true.. it save alot of fishes from them

I'm not bashing ***** altogether but stating the facts of some of their stores do have a bad rep as far as keeping saltwater fish for sale.

I know exactly what you are saying. It's just in the past some threads have been closed because people just take it to extremes. Just like any chain store there are good ones and there are the bad ones. Wasn't directed at anyone in particular, just a reminder that we can sometimes go too far. I am certainly guilty of that.

ya theres other LFS but you cant beat petcos prices i got a powder brown tang for 35 bucks

we have three *****'s here in town one of them lost there fish person and there salt tanks went to hell you could'nt even see the fish. i think it just depends on the store and who is running the fish department, one of are *****'s is moving to a new and bigger location they will be carrying inverts corals and softies so we will see how it goes

my ***** doesn't carry saltwater fish....neither does the petsmart. Both are very limited on their marine specific supplies as well.
