I've been looking for some good photo editing software. My new 8 MP camera needs to have the images reduced so I can post here. For the kind of money they want for software I'd like some good versatility for all around editing. Must be easy to use cause I don't know jack about using one. Was looking at Adobe Photoshop but not too keen on paying $600 bucks. Thats a lot of fish stuff!
I saw a couple of free programs online, just wandered if they were any good.

We use Adobe photoshop for the yearbook at our school. It works really well, you just have to get used to it if you want to do really cool things. It's an amazing program. I would highly recommend it!

I don't edit my own pics except for resizing, and for that I use the Microsoft powertoy image resizer. Easy to use, free, and the best part is that it can resize multiple pictures at once. Very simple: just right click on the picture(s), resize, choose settings, done within 3 seconds.

I use irfanview. It is free and makes it very easy to resize, crop, etc... I got the link off of a post from here. sorry I don't have a link though.

i use adobe photoshop CS, i dont care for CS2 It doesn't preform actions as quickly as CS as well as some of the features are changed dramaticly,...which i dont personally feel work as well.

again the software is expensive, but there are many ways in the internet on how to not have to pay for it.
sites such as
www.bareshare.com - download - limewire pro (so you dont have to pay for it)
once downloaded - install limewire pro, then delete bareshare (spyware) then with
limewire pro download - pest patrol so you can remove the spyware bareshare caused.
after installing and running.
download Adobe Photoshop CS or CS2 depending on what you want.
remember you will need a cd key as well as a patch.
go to : astalavista.box.sk ... search for the CD key
then do a search for the patch....
do this and your editing days will be free :)
