My buddy has a pet shop and said that his supplier is having a blowout for fish tanks. he said that i can get a 75 gallon with a natural colored pine stand for $265. I have been wanting a 75 gallon, i am just not sure how the price is. Any output would be greatly appreciated.

I went to a local fish store, and they had the same tank and stand. The tank sells for $175 and the stand is $237. So $400 for the two. I think i am getting a steal, now.

Prices on tanks and stands fluctuate a lot depending on where you are located in the country.
Look around your local area. If the $265.00 bucks is a good deal in your neck of the woods - then it's a GOOD DEAL for you !
I can travel three states over and save 50$ bucks over what I pay here but is that really a better deal then ?

I had purchase my 75 gal tank with glass top and a cheap light hood for $100. You could build yourelf a stand for close to $70. I would say try to get the tank for under $200 and that would be a fare deal. But if this is a LFS then he is trying to get more $ for his buck. See if you could get it for $175 since it's a friend of yours. Also remember that if you build a stand you can set it up any way you want (for your pumps, refuge).

Sounds Cheap... However you need to invest in good lighting which can run as much as 2 - 300.00 for this tank... depending what you are setting up. It does sound like a great deal with the nice cabinet and etc.. Filtration and more
I would look around for a good setup (used) that already has all the gadgets and gizmos. Live rock included and sand.
I've seen 90 g setups with nice cabinetry and PC 10K's and all the extra's for 350.00.
The tank and stand are definitely the cheapest part as I have recently found out.. I am only using a 58 G show and have spent 400.00 on Live Rock, 150 on the sand, 130.00 for bulbs, 2-300 on food and chemicals. Pumps and hoses and RO system and etc in the past month... and now need some more corals and etc... Had no idea when I started, but I love it!!!
If you are wanting to start new, this is a good price

My cousin got tank, oak stand, canopy, pc light, live sand, eheim filteration system, bak pak skimmer, and 2 power heads.. For $350.00.. Now Thats CHEAP.... Everything Brand New everything still in boxes...
