...hope all is well with ya'all. Thought I'd share a look at my fox coral that sits bottom center of my display.
What do ya'all have to share on this fine Saturday mornin'?

Cool, do you get everything via mailorder? I may be moving back to roswell to work in the family business from denver.

Both beautys Beth!!! I envy your pectina...I picked one up a few weeks ago in real bad shape...it is starting to come around. Maybe in a few months it'll be photo worthy...currently it looks pretty bad. Your sun polyps look healthy...
Most of my dry goods are ordered on-line...lots of stuff is ordered from the host here...and I do a lot of business with Mr. Aquarium in Lubbock. I saw a fish store in Roswell once...and once was enough. Not very impressed at all.

Those pectina are hard to adapt in my limited exp. When I first placed mine in the tank it started bleeching. This particular one I think was deep water as it did not like light. I actually had to cover up the light over her with some foil. Then after a few wks, I started filtering in light and she took off. What color is yours?

Beth...the pectina I picked up was stressed and slightly damaged from shipping. The LFS I do business with had three come in...all were in about the same condition. The owner even suggested that I take one in the hope I'd be able to save it. They even let me have it at a greatly reduced price...($20). The coloration is a sort of mottled reddish/orangish/purple/blue. There are a few dead sections around the edges...and some tips are still white...but since putting it in my reef it seems to have stabalised. Time will tell if it ever fully recovers. I have it low on the reef sort of protected from the full light...its in a moderate current....and I can still see several "mouths". I hope to be able to allow for a full recovery but my knowledge of this particular coral is rather limited and in all honesty I'm just hopefull that it makes it. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have yet to see any "mouths" on mine! LOL Where in the heck are they?? I have looked. Actually yours looks good. They really ship poorly. Mine was beautiful when I picked it up in a LFS in Miami, but by the time I got it back home [4 hrs later] it was stressed and in trouble. Its a good strong coral, however. Even completely bleached areas can come back fine. Mine was a combo of turquiose and red when I got it. It has lost a lot of the green, I think because of the light. I have a small frag in the shade and there is more green on that piece.

Here she is a year ago. You can see all the added green then compared to now. She's fattened up since then, though.

And that certainly looks like a big sun from the Sunshine State which is where I am from! How big around is that guy?

Beautiful tubastrea Beth. I have been trying to get one from the lfs but the only one they have is owned by a customer. She never fed it so it has about 10 out of 30 polyps with tissue still on it. The lady didn't know the care reqs. for it so she wants them to revive it for her and then she'll take it back. Well then it'll slowly die again. GRRRR. Sorry for the off topic, but once again beautiful Sun Coral.

The "mouths" are in the lower area...in the valleys...at least thats where I see the ones on my coral. Mine may be a slightly different type than yours. Still I hope the one I have will someday look near as good as yours...:D

Beth,
It is a little bit bigger than the top of a coke can. Maybe 3" across?
