good songs by bad bands...

ugh
I hate it when a crappy band has a good song.
2 worth mentioning
"beautiful tragedy" by In this Moment- just another metalcore/screamo band, only with a chick singer. Meh.
"shut up and let me go" by the Ting-Tings. Absolutely talentless ripoff of the already talentless White Stripes. Meh.
Yet, for some reason, I cannot stop listening. Help.

Utterly and Absolutely sick of that song! I heard it every 5 minutes last week in Vegas. They were using it for an Apple commercial at the mall on the Strip and it was blaring outside on repeat on their big screens there in time to an iPod commercial

That new Saving Abel single that's on the radio is pretty horrible.
Any song that's main lyrics are "Yeah," or "uh-huh," or, "what?" or any combination of those, but I guess I wouldn't call some dude or group of dudes that jump around with a drum machine a "band" either.

reefraff, I can't believe somebody besides me remembers that tune. Great cheesy organ riff!
I always wanted Van Halen to cover that with Sammy. I think the Organ would translate over to guitar nicely.

I ran by Flock of Seagulls
Tainted Love by soft cell
Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum
After 93 or so I get lost, moved to Montana and the radio station (yes, STATION) in town played classic rock.

"Big Country" by Big Country.
"You Spin Me Right Round" by Dead or Alive
"Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats
"99 Luftballons" by Nena
"8675309 (Jenny's Number)" by Tommy Tutone
Tons of one-hit-wonders in the 80's.
For the 90's, how about
"Mambo #5" by Lou Bega (okay, not a band but...)
