Good starter fish?

I am starting up my 10 gallon SW tank later this week. What is a good fish to start cycling the tank with. I was thinking 1 or 2 damsels but wanted to hear some opinions on what else would be good or not. Thanks.

If you want a clownfish, as a lot of people do, use a perc. They are from the damsel family and you won't have to remove them later due to aggression problems like a regular damsel.

I've heard you shouldn't use fish for cycling because it pretty much kills em in the long run, so instead I would just throw a piece of raw shrimp in there for a few days to start the cycle instead of killing a damsel.

Or what doesn't kill them will only make them stronger?
Seriously, I cycled my tank with a pair of percs and they have lived through hell and back since then: everything from tank crash to power failure to experimental filtration.
And come on, nothing is as aestetically pleasing as a rotten shrimp in your aquarium.

So let's use a live fish to cycle instead of a piece of shrimp because it's prettier?! Give me a break! Just because they might -- and I do stress the word might -- live through it doesn't make it a good thing to do.
You can either use a bit of shrimp, which won't have to be in there very long anyway, or you can also "ghost feed" to cycle as well. Once your tank has completely cycled, a pair of Ocellaris would be nice.

Ok I guess your right. Lets have you live in pure ammonia for a month and then say what dosent kill you makes you stronger even though the fish gills will be burned for life but your right. Please dont post unless your saying something that is helpful
Put a raw shrimp in the tank until the ammonia hits 1 then take it out and let ammonia go down then nitrite go up then down then nitrate go up then do a water change and your good to go.
