Good Sunday mornin'...

...looks like its going to be a cold and rainy day here in New Mexico. I hope ya'all have a good Sunday . I'll be staying inside and plan to do a little more work on the new display. I have a new sump to install and if all goes according to plan I'll be able to empty my old 55 and move it in place to become the new refugium. The transformation from the old system to the new is almost complete...basically just some sump/refugium work remains. Its been a long and slow process but in the end I believe it'll be worth the time/effort and expense.
I did pick up a new addition yesterday...I had intended to purchase a peach/cream colored T. Derasa that a LFS in Lubbock had in a display the last few times I visited. It was a pale peach/cream colored speciman with brilliant red/purple veins...me and my wife both fell for it a few weeks ago but my display wasn't ready for it yet and we had intended to get it yesterday. Sadly a Lubbock area reefer had beat us to it...but I did find the one attached below...a darker mantle with maroon/red/purple colorations....I placed it last night. The pic was shot just a few minutes ago with no lights and using a flash so the coloration is a bit off but it looks great to the eye! Maybe later today I'll get a better shot with the lighting on so the true colors can be seen.
Anyway I just wanted to wish ya'all a nice Sunday and share a shot of my new addition....

NM, Cool. Do you have pictures of how your progress is going. I know that it is not complete but some work in progress pictures would be great.
BTW, Kind of cloudy here is So Cal. Probably be around 72 to 75 today. But make no mistake we could use your rain.

I'm real pleased with it...I would rather have gotten the cream/peach colored one we saw a few weeks earlier but sadly it was already adopted! The color in the posted pic is a bit more intense than actual appearence due to lights being off and using the flash...but it looks sweet even without the flash! My battery pack is charging and I have several more odds and ends to do for the next few hours but maybe later I'll post a pic of it under the 2x400 10K Ushios...its not as intense but still lookin' good.

...plus I managed to catch and transfer my hippo and foxface over to the new display today...both seem much happier with the extra room. Its was difficult to finally catch them and the hippo was extremely upset about the old catch and release trick...but both seem to have adjusted real well. Sadly "tommy the terrible tomato" did not make the move...he and my origional 3+ yr old blue deamon damsel will soon be living in a 80 bowfront I am establishing for a client. Hate to see them go but neither are in my plans for the 100.....:)

I hope ya'alls Sunday was as pleasurable and productive as mine...the sumps not hooked up yet and I still need to move the 55 in place to be the new refugium but I am closer to getting both done.
As promised here are a few more pics...they start from left to right and provide a general view of the progress to date...plus the last one has both clams close to actual color. I hope you enjoy...

Wow, everything looks great! Nice to see that things made the move OK. Are you planning to add any SPS down the road?

Yup....I sure am sam....matter of fact I'd even add California raised frags...if ya know what I mean....:D
Lots of high flow areas are being reserved for 8-10 pieces but I'll wait a month or so before getting them....I want things to mature a bit and I still need to complete the filtration projects. But the major reason for the display and lighting upgrades were to provide for SPS types....it'll happen...just not today.
