Good T5 light for 10gallon...?

Hi there everyone, I am looking into the Nova Extreme T-5 light for my 10 gallon which I want to start getting some corals for, nothing major, just some basics. Unfortunately they don't make the Pro version for my size :(
Anyway, my question is how does this mount to the tank? I see the sliding mounting legs but I don't quite understand how the sit and stay stable on the tank...how sturdy is it...? Also, it looks like it would be really close to the top of the water, not sure I like that idea, am I wrong though, how far would it sit above, anyone have pics of this light on their tank?

I can get pictures of mine tomorrow.
I believe (could be wrong) warranty is void if you do not use a glass canopy. I have the 18" 36w 50/50 going over my 10 Gallon; and it is sitting on the perfecto glass canopy(lid/cover).
The metal braces slide out: (_____=light, . = Braces)
._____.

: to fit the size of the tank.
I will get a picture tomorrow

And, mine seems pretty sturdy.
