The guy had squat in oil stocks when you look at the big picture. If he really wanted to boost his portfolio he would have left the ban in place, it would increase the price of oil. If we are going to start looking at motives based on investment portfolios lets start with Nancy Pelosi and the millions she and her husband have in the market.

I am not for a complete ban on drilling, but i think these guys need to slow down and think about what they are doing. These are our oceans right. Everybody on this board better love the ocean. We do not even know what effect this could have on the trade yet. Nobody know where all this oil will end up. I think they should stop for a minute and think everything out before they go on.

Drilling experts warned Obama there were plenty of risks associated with halting wells already being drilled. I have NO problem stopping any new wells while they review the standards but stopping those in progress is not a great idea. Problem is Obama's panel has no people with any drilling experience, it was all environmentalists. What do you suppose their recommendation is going to be? I mean how ridiculous is that? We already know oil leaking into the ocean in large quantities is a bad thing. We need to hear from people who know how to prevent it.
