I've got some red and yellow gorgonia and seeing what seems to be red looking slime covering some of the branches, any info. would be helpful, can I actually wipe if off or how do I remove it?

Can you post a picture for us to see?
I do have a purple gorgonia and it does shed every few weeks, it is a clear coat that seems to shed like skin coming off, if that is what is seems like it is fine, it should look brighter in color underneath the shedding area. I do pull it off if I am cleaning the tank but it does fall off on its own pretty quickly.

You need to get it off ASAP. It is red slime cyannobacteria. It will surely kill your corals if you do not get it off. Also you need to increase the flow to those corals to attempt to prevent the cyanno's return. These corals are very difficult to care for and have very poor survival rates in home tanks. You need to do some research to attempt to keep these guys alive. The red cyanno is a bad sign and they will most likely die. Sorry, but do your research next time before you buy.

Sorry don't have a camera, cleaned them up today and about an hour afterwards all the polyps were out like they were before the slime issue. They all seem to look ok for now!
