I bought a red gorgonian on SWF and acclimated it right and everything. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and he has not let his polyps out yet. Why is he doing this? What shoud I do? will it kill him?

I'm assuming it's a non-photosynthetic kind? They will starve to death without a significant amount of planktonic foods and enough flow to bring it to them. Some are also sensitive to algeal overgrowth so lighting should be subdued and the goronian brushed off from time to time.

I have another Yellow Gorgonian and it is flourising. I am feeding zooplankton daily and I put the red Gorgonian in a high water flow area of my tank.
Is there any algea cover on the branches? Have you brushed it off at all?
