Here is my newest addition to my reef tank! It is amazing! Thanks to ReefkprZ I know what type of Sea Fan it really is. It is a Gorgonia acabaria.
Since it is non-photosynthetic and rather difficult to keep fed, how are you planning to keep it healthy? What foods, how often, etc.?

In all of my tanks I use Essential Elements and Coral-Vite but based on recommendations from ReefkprZ from another thread I am planning on trying several different things including:
coral frenzy
kent chromaplex
esv spray dried phytoplankton
I am hoping feeding these foods and supplements will work. Check out the thread... https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/321597/live-sea-fan-in-seahorse-tank

how light-demanding are the photosynthetic gorgonians,in you guys' opinions?
It depends on the species, I cant say for sure on all but researching some different ones I have seen from moderate to high. The one I have is in the moderate category. But even at that they are still susceptible to build up, algae, and necrosis so, IMO they must be monitored closely.

Very nice, not a purple ribbon then, they're flat ~ could be Pacific sea whip (Ellisella sp. although I hope not, since they're classed as very difficult to keep). Regardless, if it turns out to be photosynthetic, and you want to do a trade, let me know. I'll swap you a purple ribbon frag for a frag of yours.

Yeah they are cool creatures. Between this one and the Plexaurella I like them both equally as well. Wish I could get into the more colorful ones however I tried a yellow one early on and kept it for a month or two before it started to open up less and less and finally not at all. They are so beautiful I don't want to chance killing another.
Here is the yellow.
