I have a longer posting on this creature under:
something hairy eating my plate coral
but now I have a photo... was suggested that this was a gorilla crab (?) and now it needs to go away. But it's so fast I cannot catch it.
Any thoughts?

I tried a few different things and ended up taking my tank apart to get it out. I also think it might be a mud crab.

Try to straighten out the fish hook and glue onto the thin acrylic stick (sell at LFS) lure them out with some shrimp then stab him.

I saw an aquarium ornament in the shape of the empire State Building, do you have a radio controlled plane?

Lean a clear drinking glass against the rocks with a piece of shrimp in it, he'll go in but won't be able to get out.

I had a teddy bear (I think) crab come in on some LR. He started feasting on my corals. :scared: I got him out with a pair of hemostats. (what doctor's use to give/remove stitches) I also caught a bunch of emeralds this way, they don't seem to worry about the metal coming at them at all. Of course I had to hold them like that until they decided to let go of the rock. They have very strong little legs.

take a glass drinking glass and lean it against some rock. the one he stays by. pit a piece of shrimp in the botton and wait for him to crawl in he should not be able to climb the glass to get out.
