Got a Cherry Red Acan today :)

Yep, got a nice colony of cherry red Acan today! It's pretty PO right now cause I man-handle it when I got it trying to mount it to the rock. I finally gave up and just let it sit unglued. Hopefully I didn't do too much damage.

Thanks! If you look closely at the bottom polyps, they are kidda dark... that's where my hands where all over trying to press it down to the rock.

There is no good place to press it down cause the whole piece is soft polyps. We'll see how it looks tomorrow. I'm thinking the polyps will be even bigger and brighter tomorrow.

Is this normal? The Acan closed up after light out... I thought they were nocturnal and hunt at night?

They have some good sized tentacles to catch food. I spot feed mine two or tree times a week, hungry little guys. Still quite new, maybe he's being deffensive. Very nice looking!

Thanks! I checked back on it just now (6am, still dark) and the tentacles are out!

I guess it just needed some time to adjust. I think it's hungry for some treats

Thank you very much SOVIETTACO! Here is a pic I just took. It's doing really well. It's nice and puffy (big too!) with beautiful cherry red skin. I haven't gotten around to spot feeding it yet but I will as soon as I can't a coral feeder.
