I can't give you any tips, but I will wish you all the luck. I have had two (on my second now), and have lost one, and am losing the other as we speak. They seem to do fine for a year or so, then just slowly go downhill. Dunno what the deal is. I've seen some beautiful, healthy, thriving ones though. Hope your luck is better than mine.. :)

yeah, i couldn't pass it up. i've been wanting one for a while. the only thing is i notice it has a couple spots on it (dead?), and i think that this morning i see another where my goby probably nipped it while sifting sand. i wonder if it will grow back or if this is the beginning of the end (already :( ) i had to transport it honda express from kenner (about a 75 mile trip), and i hope that wasn't too much for it. i guess we'll see how it does. anyone know if the spots can recover or is it just doomed?? <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

I have three of them. My suggestion would be to leave them alone as much as possible. They go through phases. Some days they will be huge and puffy, and on others they will be tiny. I think that the key is to leave them alone when they are small. I have never fed them directly, I just let them feed naturally. I have them at the bottom of my tanks, so don't think that moving them closer to the lights will make them any bigger. That's my opinion, good luck.

thanks ky, that sounds like pretty good advice to me! mines at the bottom too, but in the brightest spot for light. i don't plan on moving it anywhere else. do you know if the spots will grow back? or will it spread? ever had spots on yours? thanks for the info. :)

Are we talking about this kind of brain?

If so, this one is about 3 1/2 years old now and is huge every day. Don't like a lot of current, and this one sits about a foot directly under a 250 watt MH bulb. Has at least tripled in size from when I got it.
