Got a shroom...now what?

Got lucky I guess and got a blue mushroom (have no idea what kind it really is...but it's blue and purpleish in color...)...on a piece of LR.
I figure taking care of it is pretty basic...light...good water conditions? I don't have fish yet...but will be getting one soon. Do I need to dose or add food to the tank for this little guy?
Here's a couple pics...sorry they aren't the best...didn't feel like finding the nice camera...

Thanks meowzer.
Also...I posted my parameters in that other thread...but here they are again.
pH: 8.2
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 20
and salinity of: 1.021
The tank has been up and going for 4 weeks. Is it too soon to add fish? Just wanting to add a clown (or maybe if I get lucky and find a mated pair...then 2 clowns)

Did you have an ammonia spike? How long have all the parameters been0? You should raise your salinity up to 1.025
ALSO....start with a few snails and see how they do first

Also, forgot to mention. In that 4 weeks that it's been running, it only ran with a heater, a filter cartridge with carbon, rock, and a powerhead.
Just today I added live rock rubble to the back (it's a 29 biocube), a bag of chemi-pure, and a bag of purigen. As well as the one LR with the shroom.

Just from my expierience in rushing things with my first saltwater I would wait longer, from your pics the coraline doesnt seem to be growing to freely yet and yes i would deff add snails, hermits and such FIRST before you add the fish. See how the mushroom does i ha a couple die on me a day or two after buying the rock and putting it into the tank because the water wasnt the greatest. I'm no pro by any means just trying to help

Well...I didn't have a test kit before today. So I am Assuming that it had a spike.
5 days after I set it up and got it running with LR and SW, I added a dead shrimp for the spike to take place. I left it in there for 4 days. (Didn't mean to leave it that long but forgot that it was in there!) I took it out, and since then the tank has had three water changes.
So again...with the dead shrimp in there for that long...in a 29 gallon...I think it had it's spike already.
As for snails...I have had some small snails in there. As well as some worms. I see a snail every now and again...but they are really too small to keep track of.

hmmmm....you know what they say about assuming LOL
IDK, If anything I would try a few LARGER snails so you can actually see them....now that you have your own test kit, test a few days after the additions, and then a couple days after that, if all levels stay at 0....maybe try a fish
I wouldn't buy an expensive one though....:(
I just hate to guess about your cycle

Oh no. I don't want to rush things by any means. I wouldn't have gotten the rock (with the mushroom that I didn't know it had) if the LFS guy hadn't talked me into it. He told me that this rock had good growth of coraline, and if I added it to my tank with the 'stability' (I posted another thread on that stuff), I would have great coraline growth.
But I will get a CUC first. Does that include crabs and shrimp as well as snails? Or just snails?
Thanks again. Sorry for all the questions.

LOL! I know...I know..."makes an A** out of you!" lol!
Well, I figured that since I've read a few threads of the 'process'...I could just go through the motions. But you're right I should get a CUC before a fish. I was just forgetting about a CUC I guess cause I don't have anything for them to eat...
And no, I don't want to spend 20 plus on a fish just for it to die :(

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving slow
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know
