Got bitten by SFE!

I think the title says it all. The other night when I was feeding him, he got hold of my finger and even though it was maybe a few seconds, he drew first blood and it hurt like hell. It would happen sooner or later since I feed him silversides from the surface with my fingers. But since he had taken a couple of nips at my fingers before and nothing happened, I got careless. It could be the fact that he's grown some since last bite and that this time he mistook my finger for the silverside. Whatever it is, I'm gonna be real careful next time.

Better make sure infection doesn't set in. I've heard eel bites can give a nasty one.

Happened to me before also. It wasn't even feeding time. I think the thing was attracted to my ring. Came out of the water and bit me. Bled like a sieve.

Thanks all, I had no reaction to the bite so I guess I'm ok, definitely will use some sort of stick to feed the eel next time.
