Got bumped by my lion

The other day i was doing maintennce in the tank and was not paying attention

when my fuzzy dwarf bumped into my hand.
It stung somewhat but to my surprise not that bad.
I immediately ran hot water over the area and then I applied a bee sting/insect bite pen to the area and I did fine.
It stung for about an hour but did not swell or even turn red.
Was I lucky?
Did my actions afterward help?
Was the bump not hard enough to cause damage?

Well my friend, I am afraid that burning is just where it begins. The tissue in your hand will deteriorate from the inside out over the next couple weeks and you will likely lose your hand!!!

Yes, I do need to be careful always. I was just concentrating on the task at hand (no pun intended).
She eats out of my hand and will swim upside down so she can spit water at me when I am looking into the top of the tank. We play that game daily. Ha!
I was careless and am sooooooo much wiser for it. Hopefully someone else benifits from my experience too.
