Im not sure what its called, but it blooms white flowers. I feel like a real newb not even knowing what its called.
I also bought a sailfin tang and some more LR. The SF tang dosent seem to be adapting well with the other fish (blue hippo, cand 2 clowns) He is bigger than my other fish btw. Not by much though. Its only been around 35 hours so maybe he needs more time.

Oh Wayner...you will never change. The SF is too big a fish type for your 75g tank, as a baby it should be fine for a bit anyway. What you bought as coral is a Gorgonian. A difficult one to keep at that.
They need lots of waterflow and plenty of coral food. Try not to handle it too much...Happy Reefing!
Oh and congratulations on your first coral.

where does it take in food at?

The little white flowers come out and absorb the food from the water. Here is the problem it can't feed if it wont bloom. So you need to handle it as little as possible and have good strong water flow over it to make it happy and peek out, it won't do any good to feed it as a stick..
While the flowers are out. Get a turkey baster or some kind of tube and in front of the coral, release the coral food in the water current so the water and food travel over it. It is a filter feeder but it needs a lot of food.
Then you have to deal with a polluted tank because what feeds coral also feeds algae. So vigilant water changes are needed for heavy feeders.
Watch the nitrates, don't let it go over 20 or it will close up, not bloom and die.

Those white "flowers" filter feed. I personally use marine snow and a baster and if I have extra bbs I also feed them. It is better to spot feed, meaning turn off your filtration for a few moments and direct the food directly at the coral.
This can be done but it required diligence and religious feeding. You will also have to be religous in the water changes as most foods can mess with your water parameters if your system is not balanced.
When you say he isn't fitting in, what do you mean?

and what ever you do make sure algae doesnt build up on it, that will irritate it and make it eventually die!
I had a red type, lasted 3 months then died.

can ricordea's live off a standard aquarium light?
Wait, what kind of lighting do you have?

Oh come on...My guess is regular freshwater fish lights!!
Unless he has changed, this is the famous Wayner, so he most likely will go get the recordia just to prove he can get it to live in regular lights and say we are the idiots. We love him anyway, it's always an adventure. He never did tell me what happened to his shark egg or flounder.

Yes its a standard freshwater light. I wont get the ricorea if I dont have enough lighting. I did mention what happened to the flounder and fish egg in another post, but ill say it again. I think we all remember when i got my trigger. Anyways I brought the shark egg back to the LFS so it wouldn't get devoured by the trigger. As for the flounder I also brought him back to the LFS because alot of people were saying he wasent good for the sand.
