I got my 135 and stand today. Have to varnish the cabinets and then I will be able to set it up. Really excited!! about this new project. Keep you all posted on what I will use as far as filters and subtrate and rock go. Then you guys will have to give me some ideas on what to put in it once it is cycled but I'm going to take my time on this.

just a suggestion...but it would probably be a good idea to decide what you will want to keep before setting it up, as different fish, corals, etc. have different requirements...could save you some money later if you have a general idea now...

I'm going to be moving my naso and sailfin tang in this tank when it is done cycling. probably in about two months. I only want fish only peaceful community tank. I have thought of a flame hawk and a lemon peel angel, so far that's it and maybe the anthias with the square on one side that is a pretty pink, my lfs here had one but it's fins didn't look good.

Hope you have fun with your new project. I think the flame hawk would be great. I have one in my tank and it is one of the most fun fish to watch, only down side is no shrimp they love thier shrimp. Good luck

well I've decided to go with 70lbs of lr and 100lbs of live sand I will add more rock later. I'm going to use a wet/dry filter and living here in Calif I am going to get a few of those battery back up air pumps we have already gone into a few blackouts.so I want to be prepared.also I want to get a power sweep 228 does anyone use these and do you like them.
I am definitely getting a flame hawk for this tank and a maybe a gobie.

we had a big wind storm last week and it completely destroyed the gazebo over our hot tub so our home owners insurance is paying for the damages and with the money left over we are buying another fish tank. It wasn't planned it just happened that way. I won't be buying anymore fish tanks for awhile. unless I decide to buy a 75 and start a reef with it but that would be in the futre. maybe next year sometime I want a little bit of experience first.

It's called tropical haven in modesto. you can look it up in the yellow pages on the internet that's how I found it.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I've been dealing with "The Aquarium" in Concord and they are expensive and seem to give poor advice...
