got my T5 lights today, now I have questions

Pontius, thank you for posting this story... I was considering those lights at one time, but was leaning towards PC fixtures lately. This definitely puts the T5 fixture out of the running. Thanks again.

actually, my problem is not with the lights, it's with this half

[hr]
seller. I had pc lights, and these are far and away more powerful. I'd still recommend T5 lights over pc, just get them from a different seller. The fixture has 3 ballasts for 6 bulbs. I don't think they're any kind of knock offs.

Sunlight supply made the first T5 fixtures (called TEK Light Fixtures)and they are great, individual parabolic reflectors and no heat issues. The big advantage of T5 is that they are a small enough diameter you can use that type of a reflector with them. Ice cap claims their parabolic T5 reflector increases output 300%.
The trouble with the ---- one's (except for innovative lighting solutions which sell Tek Hood on ----) is they place the lamps so close together a lot of the light produced from the top half of the bulb is sheilded from the tank.
