there are a couple, well at least one that I am aware of, but I am not from there so I dont know where it is. Its called Happy Reefing. I think that have a web page but I am not sure ;)
There is one in lansing though (not too far form GR) that is amazing. Called Peruess's or something like that. Great store but overpriced.
Then down near the Detroit airport is tropicorium. WELL worth a visit, but again price gouging out the a$$.
Other than that, not much . . . . oh yeah . . . bring a jacket . . . . it's cold as SH$T here!

Thanks 007, are you in the area, I was born and raised in Michigan, but I have spent the pass 23 years in the Air Force. I just wanted to check out some shops while was in the state on leave.

ya...if you want to look in GR there is a place called VIP pets and another place called solomon islands...there are also a few more in the area but those are the two I am familiar with. I am in Lansing and metro Detroit more often than I am in GR, but I have checked out a few of those reef shops and there not bad. The one on Lansing Pruess is ok, its kinda gone downhill quite a bit in the last few months, but its still cool to go and look. They are way over priced on just about everything there though. Still not a bad place to stop.
Ya its not as warm as Florida here, but tomorrow should be real nice...next week, during thanksgiv it will be cold.

Grand Rapids has several, including two VI Pets, I almost always go to the VI on Plainfield (right in front of K-mart and Lowes) they have the biggest marine selection around... they aren't the friendliest people in the world though, but it depends on who you get to help you.
For basics like salt and frozen foods, Pet supplies plus on Alpine can save you some cash over the pet stores.

Place by Muskegon where I've done a few contracting jobs called Rochester Reef fish n Pets I believe or something close to that. Preuss' animal house in Lansing (exit 110 of I-96) is pretty sweet reef selection, but definitely the king of overpriced.
