My tanks rocks look like grass patches are growing and doesn't show much of the same limp-like algae look in the flow.
Is this grass or algae?

Test your tank water for nitrates and Phosphates.
You have Green Hair Algae in your tank, your phosphates should read well above .05 mg/L., which is considered by many to be the lowest level at which Green Hair Algae will grow. The most common source of phosphates in an aquarium is from the FW used for top offs and water changes. In this case, doing water changes to reduce phosphates will only continue the problem unless the water source is changed.

I use DI water and Phosphate is at 0. Not only so, everything else is dead on perfect pt, I still have hair algea growing on rocks.
I know it's my MH that keeps them rolling, but I can't take the light off cux I have corals and anemone that need MH.
I have lots of helpers to control hair algea thou. I have a lawnmower Blenny. He's good. eat lot's of hair algea, but he's too fast, misses spots here and there. And the Turbo Snails, slow.....but effective, clean the rock to bare white rock. And then my Flame Angel, he plucks hair algea really good, but misses spots here and there, also.
So, you might want to go and get some Turbo snail and a lawnmower, that helps

I use RO/DI water from Wild Oats.
I have a flame angel that eats off the cc and the rocks.
My lights are on for about 10 hours because I'm trying to get my LR to grow. I have 6 snails and 1 scarlet hermit crab and 1 coral banded shrimp. I have 1 flame angel and 2 green chromis. This is a 75 gallon tank. so what cleaner kit should I get? I'll post pics tomorrow.

I have 2 of my 130w actinic lights on from noon to 11:30pm, and 2-150w MH on from 6pm to 10pm. I believe that's plenty of light for corals. I will need to cut back time on my actinic lights down to 9hrs instead of 11.5hr.
what kind and how many watts is your light?
This can help, pick up the snails and put them right on top of the green stuff, they will work on their meal and clean the dish, guarantee :)

any corals? anemones?
if not, cut it back a little bit to about 6hrs. cuz coraline algea doesn't need that much light to grow.

I have a freshly new kenya tree(just detached from my new hermit crabs shell and placed on rock) and polyp of some kind that is still attached to a snails shell.
I bought the two little critters because they had corals on them to do a slow startup for growth. I don't know what needs light but here is what I have.
My 75 gallon tank has:
1 flame angel
2 green chromis
1 coral banded shrimp
1 scarlet hermit crab
1 Astraea Conehead Snail
5 Nerite Snail (not sure if they are or not)
1 kenya tree (1inch tall)
1 polyp of some sort on the Astraea's shell that is placed on top of the highest rock just in case it needs lots of light.
sea cucumber (came inside of a rock that i got for $9)
peanut worm (another hitchhiker on a rock that had sea squirts all over it)
about a half dozen of feather duster clusters that have about 1/8in diameter fan each.
All powered by the 2x65watt 50/50 bulbs
My sump has:
4 mature mangroves(at least 4 leaves on each plant)
1 chunk of chaeto (3x3x6in cubed)
All powered by the 20 watt 50/50 bulb
