I wouldn't be too quick to say what some can and can not do. Everything I get is from the sea even the water. I can grow things in my tanks that many others can't. Because I have elements in my water that marine biologists don't even know about.
I'm not saying that he'll live or die but I'd like to know why you think he would.

Why do you care if your fish die or not anyway? I'm not saying that I don't care but keeping a fish that lived in this wide open ocean and is really happy and then putting him into a small glass box with crappy (relative) water qualities.... is allot like torture. If you care allot for your fish....... don't buy any. Don't support torture! ;)

now tell me, if ur saying what i think ur saying then ur basically insulting urself, uve put a fish that can grow to 4'+ in a tank about one tenth the size it should have AS A BABY

Yeap it's studied but it's composition can't be fully synthesized/duplicated. Not even close.
And when you use salt mixes you don't get anything but a chemical replica, what about all the small organisims that come in natural sea water? What about plankton. Anyone that's put NSW (Natural sea water) in there tank can tell you that the corals respond IMMEDIATLY. Whys that?
I'm not saying I'm an expert but it makes sence to me. And I'm not arguing, I'm just asking what could the barracuda possibly die from.

I am a big fan of natural sea water, as you can see from any post on the topic I have participated in. There is no issue there. But your statement is a little misleading, and people who use NSW do not have a pass to do whatever they want without suffering the consequences.
Your fish can die from stress. Your fish, once larger can die as many of them do, by swimming head first into the glass. Your fish can die of ammonia, nitrite or other problems with the tank regardless of NSW or other. NSW does not change the fact that it is a close system at the mercy of your care.

Misleading? I'm not claiming to be able to do anything. I'm just trying to voice that my situation may be diffrent because I have a more natural system. I could do 100% water changes every day for the next year if I wanted. The sea is right there. Hold on one sec......... yea...... I can smell it. Where I get my water from corals grow. I think I could even keep flame scallops for there full life if I wanted to. Well as long as they would grow down here in these waters. I feed my fish on what I see them eat in the sea. Baby glass shrimp, algae, other fish. etc.

our point is the fish is going to get to large for the tank. and ur situation is not much different than ours, ur situation may infact be worse if ur area has red tide (not saying it does) or any other pollutants. and i dont think that u could keep a flame scallop just cuz they have such a poor survival rate

Just for the fun of it let's bet. (I have no idea if it will live or not.) But I'll buy a couple and we'll bet... I say at least 3/4 his normal lifespan. You game?
