Greater Boston Area - Where to live?

My wife and I may be moving to the Boston, MA area in September from SE Michigan, I am now researching places to live. She will be working in Brockton, MA and I will be doing my Ph.D. in Cambridge, MA. Anyone from the Boston area know of any nice neighborhoods in between those two places? Any advice where to live or where not to live! Thanks!

Look into Canton. Canton is a nice area as Brockton has some tough areas. Easton is also a nice town. Really depends on what you are looking for.

Considering the recent bomb scare, I wouldn't live anywhere in or around Boston.

Don't know much about the area, but looks like they have a great, local reef club.
