I have a 75 gal. ank its been setup for about 8 mo. maybe. I have 30 lbs. of LR. It just started getting some Green alge on the top of the rocks. It is dark/bright green. I use distilled water to top it off all levels are ok. I just did a 20gal. water change. This stuff is growing pretty fast. I placed a shell on top if the LR. and the stuff is growing on it. any ideas?. I have a picyure but at get my web. page up. I cam E-mail it if some one could post it .

What are your nitrites at? And where do you get your water for water changes from: tap, RO/DI, or distilled?

I have the same problem! My levels are fine and my tank became a green ugly mess. It looks like extra long peach fuss (approx 1 inch long) it has covered all the rocks and some sand.
HELP us!!! This is what I've done so far... run the lights less (NO 48" 40watt flouresent 2 bulbs 1 10K and the other Actinic).
Used some phosguard. I only use RO to top off. HELP!! It's unbearable. I do a 10 % water change every 2 weeks. Fish only tank with 1 fish. It's 55 gal.
:nope: :notsure:
No skimmer yet. I run a WD. I'm going to get CPR back pack skimmer or an AquaC remora soon. I hope it helps. (my tank is 2 months old)

How are you two filtering your water? i.e. skimmer, wet/dry, DSB?
30# in a 75 isn't that much, I have 75# in my 46 and about 3" sandbed and a Euro-reef skimmer, RO/DI water and no probs.
A little more info would be great.
