Green algae problems

I've had my tank set up for almost a year with 2 250 metal halides 10 hours a day, corallife 250 skimmer, sump with macro algae etc, but i have a green algae that is furry in texture that has progressively taken over my tank. My zooanthids cannot spread, and some of my sps corals are almost being taken over. I use ro/di water for changes. This algae has completely covered my live rock as well. Any suggestions to fix this problem would be great.

That stuff is pretty aggressive, I was able to remove the live rock scrub it down dip in old sw and put it back in the tank, it took me a couple times but it never came back.

make sure the sun isn't shining right into your tank, maybe look into a uv steralizer??... just some suggestions...

What temp. are your halides? I would suggest at least 10k. Anything with red spectrum in it will cause algea growth, regardless of what you do. I am not sure what you mean by indirect sunlight, maybe if you could tell us the angle of the windows to the tank, it would be easier.
