green algae

My tank has recently formed some type of green algae and it seems to be spreaing all along the glass. I tried to scrub it off but it's stuck on pretty good. Any suggestions? :happyfish

Maybe add some snails to eat it off the glass, and then find the source of problem (overfeeding, leaving the lights on too long, impure water, etc).

I have like 30 snails and I test the water regularly and the lights stays on for about 12 hrs.

Gradually cut the lights back to about 8hrs. a day and invest in a mag float to clean it.
