lol! No, you can't just buy the frozen type. lol. I never heard of frozen rotifers?
Anyways, it's kind of like raising your own phytoplankton.... There's a lot of DIY involved and patience. You can get a biological sample to grow from Carolina biological supply... But, after a few days you would have to enrich your rotifers with fresh home made phytoplankton to be able to give the little fish enough nutrients to grow... It's a huge process and unless you are already set up for it... it would be almost impossible.
Growing your own phytoplankton is also pretty easy and rewarding experience. Fresh is always better for the corals. I messed around with it for a little while but I couldn't ever get my phyto dark enough... never really learned the tricks. lol. I may take it up again sometime in the future.
By the way,after almost graduating college and having to drop out to take care of my family - I'm finally getting to go back to school next year. I'll be going to college at Southern Miss in Marine Biology! woot woot! Go Eagles! lol. I can't wait.
