Green Bubble Coral

I'm not sure what is going on with my green bubble coral. I got it from my son's science teacher. Its about 5 inches long. It was beautiful when I got it. Floated the bag for a few hours and then added to tank. He had it in water and a cooler at school for a few hours before I picked it up. No heat packs. Its been almost two weeks and it never fully opened up and now a lot of the skelton is showing. I don't think its going to make it. Should I remove it or leave it and keep my fingers crossed. I have been using distilled water for top offs and I had tested my water prior to putting it in and everything was normal readings. Calcium was at 450. Temp 82. I tested the water on Friday and my PH was down to 7.8. I added buffer to it and its back up to 8.2. Do I have to add buffer with the distilled water everytime? I feed with cyclopeeze.
