I am curious if anyone has had success with these two species in particular. I understand that Tomato's can get teritorial after a while and toward similar shaped fish and that is why I ask. I have had one for a while in my 55g and was wanting a green clown goby. Also, neon gobies and green clown gobies? Thank-you and I apreciate all answers.

You got that right. He is a cool looking little fish but in a month I have seen him swimming twice. He stays in a certain piece of LR I have and just hangs out there.

How are they when it comes time to eat? What about at night? Current strong or weak?

get the goby eating well before introducing the clown (or any aggressive eater). it takes them a while to get going good with feeding.

You can usually find him if you look around really well in the rocks. Mine has no trouble eating. I've seen him eat brine shrimp and flakes when he is out and about. I've only seen him really come out twice so far and he ran the top of the tank back and forth for quite a while. He was actually swimming back and forth on the side right in front of the powerhead, so maybe he likes current?

that is neat. when he does swim, is he a low and mid level swimmer? what is his reaction to larger fish? inverts? what are his favorite things to eat?

Well I have only had him about a month so I'm still learning. He loves to hide but if I was 1" long I would too. I think that is the reason why he usually comes out when the moonlight is on. Everytime I have seen him swimming he is at the very top of the tank running the waterline. If any other fish do happen to get near him (which is not usually the case since they are sleeping) he will just go hide behind the heater or powerhead until they go away. I have not seen him pay any attention to the hermits or snails.

So if he is getting picked on he is good about getting away and hiding? That would be important. Sounds like I have not much to worry about and I think I am going to get one.
