mY TANK IS BEEN UP FOR 3 MONTHS AND THE BROWN ALGAE CHANGED TO GREEN AS EXPECTED. mY PROBLEM IS IT IS A LIGHT FILM THAT FORMS ON THE GLASS THAT RETURNS 20 MIN AFTER CLEANING. tHE NEXT DAY IT NEEDS CLEANING AGAIN. THIS SEEMS A LITTLE FAST. I TESTED THE PHOSPHATES WHICH WAS .5. I'M GOING TO TRY A PHOSPHATE EATING BACTERIA. IF ANYONE HAS ANY OTHER IDEAS IT WOUL BE APPRICIATED.

The tank is not getting any sun light. The algae forms mostly under a single 175 watt MH fixture that is about 12 inchs from top of tank. I made the light up my self. I used white aluminum as a reflector.

I think it's your phosphates. My tank does the same exact thing. I still use tap water which is the problem. The film is almost like a dust that comes right back after you clean it. I have an army of snails that keep it at bay and I run phosgaurd in my system. I am purchasing a ro/di filtration system in a few weeks so hopefully this problem will be a thing of the past. Good luck.
