Green mushroom trouble

I bought a rock with 5 mushrooms on it and in a short time there was only one that has shrunk to a very small size and has been hanging on like this for a long time. These are supposed to be extremely easy to keep and require almost nothing. I have red mushrooms and they are doing great. What does this green mushroom need?

Maybe you have it in a bad spot? Or something is bothering it?

I have moved it all over the tank, close to light , under rocks away from light. close to movement, further away from movement

Your not the only one, mine won't open that much either?

I dont know, I'm new. I just saw the title and because I bought a green hairy shroom rock today thought I'd stop in and see whats up!

mushrooms just tend to either detach or die when they decide they want to. I had a rock with about 12 mushrooms on it in the same place for over a year and this past week every one of the decided they now hate it there and either shriveled up or detached from the rock and floated all over my tank (?).

sometimes different kinds of shrooms can be weird like that. I had a blue mushroom in my tank for about 6 months which didn't fully open up until about 3 months in the tank lol. All my other shrooms in the same place were full and open within days of arrival. Even if you only have one now, they multiply like CRAZY!!!

thats the same problem i have had with my mushrooms. i have had a 40 gallon tank setup for about a year now and i have purple mushrooms, red mushrooms, purple with blue outlining and purple with blue speckles that are doing amazing and have been dropping babies likes crazy. i went from one of each to over 15-20 in a few months. my green one however has from some reason not done a thing. it was doing great for the first 3 weeks or so, one of the best looking ones and was always open and happy then one day he decided to shrivel up more and more and more until he finally detached and is now attached under a rock out of the light and is still doing terrible. i think he is about ready to just give up.
